I can agree with you about that the 4 seat is not practical. However, 4 seat is truly better than 5 seat. If you want the similar 4 seat which LS equips from Mercedes or BMW, you can only purchase Maybach or RR.

If you plan to use it as family car on the weekends, driver or no driver, I think 5 seater is a better choice. Assuming you use driver on the weekends, you only have 3 seats left, one for the wife, and other one for the kid. But I think people who can afford a car like this generally have more than one kid, so where will the others go? Even if you drive it your self, you only have space for 2 kids. Have a 5 seater is more practical.
