I just found this... Actually Crown is a Toyota GS!!! So, I would say Crown could be a Lexus, definitely not an ordinary Toyota!!!

The below is from Wiki...

The Crown has also been partially succeeded in export markets by its closely related sibling, the Lexus GS, which since its debut in 1991 as the Toyota Aristo has always shared the Crown's platform and powertrain options. Later models of the GS and Crown have taken on a very strong aesthetic kinship through shared design cues.

-----------------------

So, we all cannot buy a GS now... We may need to consider Crown!!! (Not to mention, Crown is also CHEAPER!!!)

Actually, currently only Crown "SEDAN" is a RWD platform which may has AWD function. Believe it or not... Crown SEDAN shares the same platform(TNGA-L, GA-L) as the current LC and LS do!!!

Anyway, Crown actually has a VERY VERY LONG history, just like Nissan Skyline, which began since 1955... (even 2 years earlier than Skyline!!!) So, it's definitely not an average car!!!

The below is from wiki...

The TNGA-L platform underpins unibody vehicles in the E-segment or executive car, F-segment or full-size luxury car, and S-segment or grand tourer categories. The platform is offered in both rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive variants and is paired with a longitudinal engine. The platform also supports a wheelbase length of 2,870–3,125 mm (113.0–123.0 in). The Crown was also produced with a narrow version at 1,800 mm (70.9 in) wide. The TNGA-L replaces the older N platform.
