If the room is ample, I will definitely keep the big Magnepan boys, which take a lot of space to "breathe" and are very demanding for Amp power.
I am now using the most inexpensive Magnepan speakers, MMGs. I have to place them 3 feet away from rear wall and side walls, and 8 feet away from each other. And I feed them with a McIntosh MA 6100, which has solid 80W per channel into 8 ohms and helped by the famous McIntosh Autoformer feature. The result is, despite of the trouble, very very satisfying, at least better than my previous system which was based on Kef 103.4.

我現服役的是最便宜的Magnepan MMGs喇叭。它離後牆、邊牆三呎，二者距離八呎。我以McIntosh MA6100(每聲道有實實在在的80瓦)來推(喇叭阻抗8歐姆)，並以有名的McIntosh Autoformer作輔助。
這組合，先不管(調教)麻煩的地方，效果深獲我心，至少比我上一組合(以KEF103.4為主）好聽。
