ABLS (Advanced Brake Lighting System).
I had to suddenly brake as someone decided to pull out of a side turning and as I looked in my rear view mirror to make sure no one was going to hit me up the rear, I noticed the high level brake light flashing rapidly, this continued until I lifted my foot from the brake pedal.
Before you ask how can I see the brake light from inside the car, the brake light was reflecting from the dealer sticker at the top of the rear windscreen on my Sports Tourer, lol.
I thought to myself, thats cool for the drivers behind to catch there attention if hard braking is required.
I tried this out again tonight with one of my colleagues following me on a quite road. He informed me that the high level brake light and the brake light flash rapidly, and the high level one flashes faster that the brake lights.
I have found this is called "EBA" (Emergency Brake Assist).
I know that the Ford done a similar system and the hazard lights came on.
Just thought i'd mention this if you did not know already.
