The new Neihu Line will incorporate 12 stations along 14.8 km (9.2 mi.) of dual-lane guideway. As part of the contract, Bombardier is also retrofitting the automatic train control system for the Muzha Line, the on-board train control of the 102 existing vehicles, as well as upgrading the existing Muzha control centre, which will be used as the redundant control centre for the entire Muzha-Neihu Line. The system is designed for a peak capacity of 28,400 passengers per hour per direction.The 202 rubber-tired vehicles, to be configured in married pairs, will operate as 4-car trainsets.The configuration of the new vehicles will ensure the same functionality and physical interfaces as the original Muzha Line vehicles. Following the deployment of the Bombardier* CITYFLO* 650 automatic train control (ATC) technology, both the new fleet of 202 vehicles and the original fleet of 102 vehicles will be capable of operating interchangeably on both the Neihu and Muzha Lines.

Bombardier’s experience in systems engineering and integration will ensure the seamless transition from the existing Muzha Line fixed-block automatic train control system to the communications-based CITYFLO 650 moving block automatic train control system. The CITYFLO 650 ATC system offers a high degree of flexibility and will allow for future expansion of service.
