Question for GD 88

Hey, got this website by accident....but so cool!!!
Sorry first that I am in Orlando, so I cannot type Chinese :(
I have a question about the GD 88 ( here is called GU 88)
My mom bring one from Taiwan for me...I am not sure is "company" inventory or "water" one....
Now, I need to go ATT to activity it. I just want to know...is that relate to any "lock" thing or not, and can I use here?
And if I do can use here, will it sitll Chinese or only Englsih....
And is there any one knows what question may appear after I setup for ATT?
Thank you so much..and please let me know asap...before 9/26 ( my mom back TW). If I cannot use here, then it may good just bring it back and return.
By the way, America's SIM system is really bad....the quality is sucks....I miss "ChunWha(??)"....
