It does not matter, simply update the firmware and then you will have Traditional Chiness.
I mean, download the Official firmware from Taiwan Panasonic and then update the firmware to your america-bought camara. Got it?
In case you and just in case you need to apply warranty back in the US; update the US version frimware will do the trick for you.
I bought my Sony DC in Seattle and that is what I did.
