Mac Fan 宣稱，iPad Air Plus 將搭載 A9 處理器，而非沿續 iPad Air 2 使用 A8X；另外，蘋果也在研發 iPad Mini 4，將採用 A8X 處理器，機身更薄，與 iPad Air 2 相近。Mac Fan 表示，上述兩款新 iPad 都將在明年 4-6 月間開賣，符合凱基證券（KGI Securities）知名分析師郭明錤的說法。
