剛從台灣回美國，現正時差中，轉機待機途中深深覺得有個智慧型手機在身邊很好用（例如用Skype打個電話回台灣），我家已有iPhone3GS （老婆的）和iPad，但這趟自己飛回來身邊沒有帶這些東西，所以興起自己也弄個來用的念頭。說實話個人首選還是iPhone，畢竟已有的資源可以共用，但是在美國用iPhone會被AT&T強搭data plan，目前不想同時養兩個data plan（因為平常工作，家裡和大部分機場都有Wi-Fi），
本來只想用目前的SE舊手機再買個便宜的iPod Touch，可是我實在不想帶兩個行動裝置在身上，
不知道有沒有也住美國的朋友知道哪款Android手機無鎖且可以在美國不用綁AT&T data plan? 多謝！

To OP, anything except above (Nexus, Streaks & iPhone) should be OK since they are not on AT&T's record. And you may use the cheap unlimited media-net plan ($10/month). I am using Samsung Galaxy SII (HSPA+ 3G) on $15 media net plan with 200 SMS.

First of all, you don't need to tell what phone you are using to activate phone service. (U can do it online and have them to sent the sim to you I guess).
But as far as I know, AT&T has a database to keep tracks the IMEI of all smartphones sold by them, and any unlocked iPhone , Nexus one, and Dell Steak from all over the world. Based on my Personal experience on AT&T Pure (AT&T version of Diamond 2), if you could complete turn off the data connection, then you are safe just to use the voice only plan.
The real different is when you accidentally turn on the data (or any apps turn it on for you which could happen very easily on iPhone and Android), they will "automatically" add the plan for you. And if your IMEI is on their database as smartphone, then they will add you to the pricy (and limited) smartphone plan. To be safe, I heard you can ask AT&T to add an data block to ensure you won't use their data accidentally. But of course, you can't let them know you are using a smartphone. Maybe just give them a fake IMEI from a dump phone.
The reason why I suggest unlimited media plan is it's real cheap (only $10 a month for unlimited and you can tether if you have the right phone). Android and iPhone are almost handicap without data connection. Of course, it's user's choice after all.

關鍵在於美國這邊(至少AT&T和T-mobile)有個台灣沒有的奇怪制度：
只要他們測到客戶使用smartphone，抱歉，不管客戶想不想，一律強制加上data plan。
所以我的確是要
"用您建議的,雖使用"Smart Phone",
卻讓at&t認為你沒有用"Smart Phone"的方法。"
至於n大問的：

P.S. Just found you need to have unlimited SMS to qualify for $10/month. Otherwise, it will be $15 (I am using the $15 for many years already).
