The Mavic Pro is currently fielded by Special Tactics operational units. There are currently 15 Mavic Pro drone in operation across the 8
Special Tactics Squadrons and existing batteries, remotes, propellers, chargers and additional optional systems can be utilized. Software has
been developed (specific to this model) and implemented to eliminate the cyber security concerns that are inherent to the DJI Mavic Pro.
Additionally, thermal gimbaled cameras are being fielded for operational use and will only fit this particular model (which will extend this
capability into the nighttime environment). Furthermore, this platform has been tested and approved for use in real time operational
environments. TTPs, software, and optical system development would be negatively impacted if this system was abandoned.
