美國承認，台灣海峽兩岸的所有中國人都認為只有一個中國，台灣是中國的一部分。
美國政府不挑戰這一立場。

那是兩岸中國人的立場，美國承認他們有這個立場
因為美國本身並非同一立場，所以才強調不想爭辯這個立場

如果美國自己也承認台灣屬中國，那等於美國義務要馬上撤軍，把台灣交給中國
