Hassan Whiteside announced on his Snapchat that he will re-sign with the Miami Heat. "I’ve played on eight teams since college — from Reno to Sioux Falls to Sichuan, China," Whiteside said. "I am not ready for there to be a ninth." It sounded like the Mavs were the favorites to sign Whiteside heading into July 1, but the Heat reportedly "swung back momentum" in their early Friday meeting. The deal is reportedly for four years and $98 million according to the Associated Press, the maximum that the Heat could offer. There's certainly a lot of risk involved with this deal, but he's worth the gamble after averaging 14.2 points, 11.8 rebounds and a league-best 3.7 blocked shots last season. For what it's worth, this means the Heat probably don't have a chance to bring Kevin Durant to Miami.
