The Thunder have fired head coach Scott Brooks according to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports. Wow. It's tough to blame Brooks after such an injury-plagued season, but he has been on the hot seat for a few seasons now and his offense and in-game adjustments have always been heavily criticized. Brooks had the public support of his star players, so it will be interesting to see if Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook or Serge Ibaka has anything to say about this. Brooks has reportedly become an instant contender for the head coaching jobs in Orlando and Denver, while University of Connecticut head coach Kevin Ollie and Florida Gators head coach Billy Donovan are among the many names being thrown around the rumor mill to replace Brooks in OKC.
Rajon Rondo (back) is out indefinitely due to a back injury sustained in Game 2 on Tuesday. He only played 34 seconds in the second half, but on the surface it looked like it he was benched for poor play. The severity of this back injury isn't known, but the Mavs are likely going to hold him out the rest of the postseason. We won't speculate on the details. J.J. Barea will take over as the starter and the Mavs could have Devin Harris back for Game 3.
