如題~
HD DVD是高畫質的影片模式~最近在網路上看到想要下載~~
但是HD DVD的格式都沒看過~不知道在MAC上的VLC或是MPLAYER可以播放嗎?
因為影片的檔案都蠻大的[差不多25G]所以想要問問看MAC可不可以播放!!
25G的影片要用什麼樣的DVD燒錄??通常DVD5的都是4G~DVD9的是7G~
還沒看過25G這麼大的DVD光碟片!!

First, HD DVD, or High-Definition DVD is a high-density optical disc format designed for the storage of data and high-definition video. It is not a video codec nor video container format.
Videos contained in HD DVD uses VC-1, H.264 or MPEG-2.
If the HD-DVD rips that you are trying to download are encoded in one of these formats, VLC or Mplayer would be able to playback them.
As you ask what disc you are suppose to use to hold that 25GB of video, the answer is BD or HD-DVD.
However, Apple is in the Blueray (BD) camp. Therefore HD-DVD playback is not expected unless someday Dual-formats drives are widely adopted.

Type 2 Advanced Content（有 HVDVD_TS 跟 ADV_OBJ 檔案夾）無法播放，市面上好萊塢那些有 AACS 保護的片子也沒辦法播放。
XBox 360 HD DVD 接上麥金塔也沒用，因為 Mac OS X 10.4 沒有內建 UDF 2.5/2.6 driver，所以也認不得 HD DVD 格式的光碟片。
至於蘋果是哪個陣營，就不要再聽信那些沒有根據的說法了，因為蘋果既是 DVD Forum 也是 BDA 的 member。
