小弟發現使用DELL附的隨機版光碟，
不論是在安裝XP 或VISTA時，都不用輸入序號
但是顯然每台機器的光碟片又都是一樣的(畢竟這樣才能大量製造，總不會每個序號燒一張光碟)
所以這樣是如何通過MS驗証的呢?
因為小弟發現機器內部的授權貼紙與VISTA OS內顯示的不一樣
(機器上的實體貼紙顯示的是常見的XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX...)
(但系統內顯示的就像是OEM的援權碼：XXXXX-OEM-XXXXX)
最近在煩惱轉換32 bit與64 bit Vista的授權事宜(小弟是商業版)，幸好最近似乎找到一絲曙光：
就是32 bit與 64bit的版本序號是通用的，MS也提供寄送64 bit的光碟服務(要提供原版序號與運費)

這樣小弟是否只要跟同為Dell的網友拿到64 Bit 的隨機版光碟，就可以使用?
(記得所謂入門版、商業版也都是序號的不同而非光碟的不同)
PS:剛好最近又跟Dell接洽增購零件，不知道Dell願不願意讓小弟換或加送我一張光碟?

所以顯然這是有例可循的事情 (我剛在UK訂一台Vostro 410,看來應該是可以照著跑去要求一張 64bit Vista Business 光碟). 不過要記得的是,照ChrisM上面的講法是,你這個動作只能跟Customer Service 或是 Tech Support要求,Sales是不管(也不對這件事負責任)的. 然後當然,戴爾本身也不會對所有64bit OS/software相關的問題進行支援(意思是讓你自生自滅啦....),只單純作硬體的保固(除非你換回32bit版 Vista)

感謝smallce幫大家詳細的查明，看來這個Policy是很有利使用者的~
ps:新的機種有些隨機就可以選配64bit的OS，所以看來應該也可以有tech support的喔~
ps2:Wave 出的Embassy trust suite好像在Vista 64下不會安裝Private information manager
結果原本在32/XP版本有的利用TPM晶片存網站密碼的功能好像消失了，小弟還在研究中~
PS3:紅色警戒3在Vista 64下真的可以跑~雖然system requirement特別註明OS要XP或32bit版的Vista
