I wouldn't go for that light with aluminum. I had a 2.1lbs Casati MU:2 frame and fractured the down tube on the underside of the top tube from cable stop to cable stop. I'm 5' 9" and 145lbs. But it was the most aggressive frame I've ever ridden.
Its called the M:7.9 now. They say its 850 grams i think. Nice looking bike but i wouldn't buy it again.

Mine looked just like this but with a black fork and the Casati letters.

I forgot how sick my bike was. I found the pictures i posted last summer and i still love the way it looks and how light it was with out carbon wheels or bars.
I remember that the frame wasn't the stiffest but maybe thats why I liked the way it road. I know that this frame had a rider limit of 155 or 165lbs i can't really remember.
It builds up light but the frame is probly around $2000 or so and you may be able to request something similar for cheaper. You just wouldnt get the Italian name and sick paint. My custom painted Waterford wasn't nearly as complex but it added a lot to the cost.
Hope this helps a little but i probly wont be going back to aluminum any time soon.
How sick my bike was""
Waterfold
