>Milk is an excellent source of calcium, potassium and vitamin D and benefits your health in more ways than one. While some people swear by hot milk, others prefer drinking it cold. But which one is a better choice? Well-known dietician Neha Chandna tells you.
Drink hot milk if you are intolerant to lactose
One benefit of drinking warm milk is that your body can easily digest it. You may enjoy cold milk with your cereals but avoid drinking it if you are lactose intolerant and find it difficult to digest dairy products. Hot milk can be a better option as when you heat milk, the lactose in it breaks down, preventing uncomfortable digestive symptoms like diarrhoea and bloating.
A warm glass of milk promotes good sleep
Drinking a glass of warm milk before going to bed can promote better sleep. Milk contains the amino acid tryptophan that produces sleep-inducing chemicals serotonin and melatonin, that can help you relax and sleep well.
Cold milk can be a natural remedy to relieve acidity
Cold milk can be a good way to provide instant relief from the burning sensation one suffers due to acidity. Drinking half glass of cold milk after meals will nullify excessive acid production and prevent acidity.

Drink cold drink on a hot summer day to prevent dehydration
Drinking a glass of cold milk can prevent your body from getting dehydrated. Early in the morning can be the best time to drink cold milk. However, avoid drinking cold milk if you are suffering from flu and cold.(有傷風感冒時就不要喝冰牛奶)
