Of course, on highways or open roads, GSF felt much better than Sentra, as GSF's HP was more than THREE TIMES than Sentra's!!!!

However, on narrow mountain roads, HP was not so important, but the driving skill became much more critical. And, SURPRISINGLY, this little economy Nissan was actually quite capable!!!

(I don't think the Miata I rented in 2019 was much better than this little Nissan except much lower grips from those cheap tires of the Sentra. Of course, I'm just an average driver!!! I definitely need more driving skills to drive both cars near or on the limits... )

PS: By the way, I don't think I will drive both cars on the limits on public roads, even thought I have the skills!!!

Even on the race tracks, we still CANNOT expect what's happening in the next corner.... That's why we need yellow or red flags!!!

I really think NOW, it's very good timing to buy a Nissan or Infiniti!!! (as NOT many people consider this brand now!!!)

I already have a very fun, sporty and reliable(long life) performance car, GSF. Now, I really think I should buy a big SUV to enjoy my retiring RV-like life!!!

(My 8.5 year old GSF is still extremely reliable. I think it should last for at least 5-10 more years. So, I should buy a DEIFFERENT car, not a similar car to replace my current GSF!!!)

When I was younger, I was driving Civic, Corolla, Accord, Altima, Maxima, Primera, G35, M35X and GSF, NONE of the cars really let me happy, as a lot of people said Japanese cars were soft and not fun??? So, I think that's the car issue, not me???

One day, I finally realized M4 was just a little stiffer than all of my previous Japanese cars. So. I softened down the Ohlins suspension from my GSF to about 50% stiff instead of 75% for 2 years..

Guess what... Now, I think a rental Sentra is also fun on mountain roads!!! (So, the problem is always on ME, not on cars!!!)
I think I know why I felt good in a Sentra on mountain roads...

If I say even with my current Ohlins GT3-like suspension, my GSF doing 0.8G on mountain roads doesn't feel less scary or more stable than a Sentra doing 0.6G on mountain roads, will you believe me???

In the past, I was driving a Civic or a Corolla about 0.4-0.5G on mountain roads and complained that Civic or Corolla was unstable and scary??? THIS IS REALLY AN IDIOT!!!

Actually, a super car doing a 0.9G is much scary and unstable than that Sentra doing 0.6G!!! Believe it or not, if you do 0.6G in that Sentra on mountain roads, you're already faster than 99% of the cars on the roads!!!

(I think I spent TOO MUCH TIME on Internet in the past!!! for reading those nonsense comments!!!)
The ride frequency or springs of a factory MX-5 suspension is only about as high or stiff as that of a Sentra, although MX-5 does have a little firmer dampers!!!

Why is the below MX-5 so fast on mountain roads??? The key is THE DRIVER, not the car... The driver really needs A BIG HEART(willing to die any time) and some good driving skills!!!

If you drive a super car and do some 0.9G cornering on the roads and you go back to a family car and do some 0.6G cornering...

Then, you will find the family car is so easy to drive and wonder why people drive their family cars SO SLOWLY???
So, I think family cars are underrated but super cars are overrated???
Today I replaced the front brake pads for my daughter's M35X. (The old Hawk HPS brake pads finally worn out after 9 years and 50K miles usage!!!)

Guess what??? I also found the mechanic from a local professional auto shop owned by a Taiwanese did NOT replace the brake pads correctly!!!

These Japanese cars are very easy to be maintained but people still could make mistakes EASILY if he or she doesn't pay attention to the maintenance procedures!!! The good thing is these Japanese cars actually have very high tolerances in human errors!!!

The mistake could introduce some brake drags which could increase the power loss and lower fuel economy. Now, I wonder why that M35X still could make 0-60 in 5.85s in 2016 and 5.86 in 2022??? In addition, even though the previous pads were not installed correctly, the pads still lasted for 9 years and 50K miles without any noise!!!

This M35X NEVER has good fuel economy... Now, I think I might find the culprit!!!

The issue was the two pins in the below picture which was not positioned correctly!!!

That Taiwanese auto shop is in the Silicon Valley and recommended by at least two of my colleagues!!! I guess the auto shop doesn't make big mistakes but small ones...

The brakes of my son's stolen G35S was also maintained in that shop. I guess it should also make the same mistake on G35S!!!

Now, I really cannot trust any auto repair shop. They may make mistakes even on some easy jobs like brake pads replacement!!!
