1. MacBook Pro 比較貴的原因有很多, 包含品牌形象, 規格, 設計, 用料, 軟硬體整合性, 稅金.......等. 前面有一位朋友提出 VIAO 的例子就可以說明. 事實上, 市面上相同規格的 Laptop, 不同品牌賣的價錢也完全不一樣. 不能說 MacBook Pro 賣的比 PC Laptop 貴一倍, 就代表 MacOS X 的價格要幾萬塊. (其實 Apple 大部分的硬體產品確實比人家貴, 但已經比 10 多年前 Macintosh 時代便宜很多了, 而軟體都還滿便宜的.)
2. "沒有人會買一套 Leopard 來裝在全新的電腦", 就某種角度來說是沒錯的, 因為每一台 Apple 的電腦都有附作業系統, 不需要另外購買, 所以只有 "升級到 Leopard" 的問題. 同樣的, PC 不也是這樣, 除非自行組裝, 不然市面上的品牌電腦都也安裝了作業系統 (還是 Home 的). 但如果想要升級到最新的系統, Leopard 只要花四千多塊, Vista Ultimate 卻要一萬塊, 這個價差就不少了. 我想這樣比較才會比較公平.
3. 就免費升級的問題來說, 確實 Apple 沒有. 不過樓主可以試試看到 Apple Store 去申請升級 Leopard, 購買日期選擇 10/1, 如果成功的話, 可以用 NT$350 買到昇級版的 Leopard. 我是在 9 月中買的新版 iMac, 成功申請到升級的 Leopard NT$350, 提供給你參考一下.

Windows XP was introduced in 2001. You pay one license, and use it for 5-6 years and longer. Microsoft come out with SP1, SP2 for free. next spring, maybe SP3 will release. also for free.
Vista Home Premium cost around $100 for OEM version. (full version, but can only install on one machine) the next version of Windows is expected to release in 2011 or 2012, which means Vista will have a life at least 5 years.
how about OSX?
Apple release 6 version in the last 6 years!! and you HAVE TO pay for every upgrade!!
Steve said to NY Times yesterday that the new Leoperd will be replaced by new version in 18 month, and apple is planning to do an major update every 12-18 month!!
If you pay $69 for every update, i DON"T think it will be cheaper than Windows.
BTW, apple computer are very reasonable priced nowadays. the all in one Vaio is more expensive then iMac.

這樣也可以說成優點 ？
Winxp 相隔六年才升級到 Vista 可不是 microsoft 自願的呢，
而是 microsoft 開發有問題，要由頭再開始才會六年才出到新版，
如果 Mac 可以一年兩年多有新版，而 software 可以向後支援舊版，
那當然是有新系統比沒有的好，難道 WinXP 永遠不升級，就是好事 ？
而且 Vista 才剛抄到 Tiger 的 function （spotlight 等） , 出了 Leopard 後又要被 Mac 拋離了，
可能要到六年後的 Windows 才有 Time Machine 的 function , 這可要暈倒了
